Background to
the privacy act and it's implementation:-
The Privacy
Act 1988 (“the Act") was, in 2001, extended to all Not for profit
organizations which includes KIDSLINK INTERNATIONAL Inc (KLI)
ABN 50 119 743 985 and KIDSLINK INTERNATIONAL TRUST FUND (KLITF)
The act requires that private sector organisations like
KIDSLINK INTERNATIONAL Inc and KIDSLINK INTERNATIONAL
TRUST FUND must comply with requirements of the act.
National Privacy Principles have been established and set minimum
standards in relation to the collection, holding, use, disclosure,
management, access, correction and disposal of personal Information
about natural persons.
Our
Commitment
It is the
intention of KLI & KLITF to not only comply with our
requirements under the law, but with the utmost integrity, and to
the best of our ability, comply with the spirit and intent of the
legislation. KLI & KLITF are committed to protecting the
privacy and security of all personal information that may be
collected about any regular users or visitors to our site.
This Privacy statement explains how any personal information
collected about you online will be handled by us. From time
to time we may amend the information provided on this web
site. Consequently you are encouraged to visit our web site
and review this privacy statement on a regular basis. By visiting
our web site you are accepting the practices described in this
privacy statement and our “Online terms of use”

Information' means information or an opinion about an individual
whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from
the information. The type of Personal Information that KLI
& KLITF collects about you online depends very much on how you

publications or apply for any courses or request information to be

to us via e-mail. Generally speaking, the purpose of the

Statement applies to our web site which is operated by KLI under
the domain names www.kidslink.org.au and www.kidslink.net.au and
also applies to KLTF who operate out of the same site. However,
this Privacy Statement is subject to any specific provisions about
privacy that may be contained in other sections of the web site. In
the event of any inconsistency between the provisions of this
Privacy Statement and any other specific provisions, the specific
provisions will prevail.
The
Collection of information that is not personal information -
Cookies

cookie is a small text file that a web site transfers to your
browser for identification purposes. KLI & KLITF may send
cookies to your computer while you are accessing our web
site. Cookies may
used on the KIDSLINK web site:

the need for users to re-enter any identification and or passwords
during visits to the web site;

you in your progress through the course of any application
processes, online modules or training.

should do this if you do not want anyone to use

KLI &
KLITF will not give third parties the ability to assign cookies to

accordingly and will put a new update notice by way of the revision
date, on our home page showing that a change to the privacy
statement has occurred. We will also highlight the changes to the
statement to clearly advise users of the type of information that

user's browser details may be collected by KLI & KLITF for
statistical purposes only, this does not include any personal

KLI &
KLITF may use and disclose personal Information collected about you

confidence. We will not sell, trade, rent or give away that

servers
We do not
partner with or have any relationships with ad server
companies.
We do NOT
have paid advertisements on our site.
We DO have
sites promoted where those sites are supporters of KIDSLINK and
supply us with donated goods or services. Where those
entities sell products or services then KIDSLINK may possibly
earn a commission, when this is happening we will declare it to you
at the point that they are promoted on our site.
Data
Security
We use
industry standard encryption technologies (such as Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) technology) when transferring and receiving financial
data through KLI online. SSL is compatible with Netscape, Internet
Explorer, AOL, Web TV and most other browsers. If your browser is
not equipped with SSL, or if you are at all concerned about sending
information such as credit card details over the internet, we
encourage you to make contact with our office to make alternative
arrangements. We take reasonable steps to protect personal
information from misuse, loss, unauthorized access, modification or
disclosure. Our personnel and web site contractors and hosts are
trained to treat personal information with the utmost
confidentiality. You can help by ensuring that you log out of
our web site when you have finished using it. If you become
aware of any security breach, please let us know as soon as
possible. Although KLI & KLITF take reasonable steps to
protect personal information, we cannot fully guarantee that our
web site is totally “hacker-proof”. When Personal Information
is no longer required, steps are taken to destroy or permanently
de-identify the information.

you, please contact us. KLI & KLITF will generally allow
you to access such information (although it may be on a cost
